Chico Art Festival showcases local artists and artisans, children’s activities, demonstrations, music, dance and food for a perfect Mother’s Day weekend celebration.
The 11th annual Chico Art Festival, previously known as the Art at the Matador, will be held once again at the beautiful grounds of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 2341 Floral Avenue in Chico. The festival, which features a Mother’s Day weekend extravaganza, will be held Friday, May 10, 4-8pm and Saturday, May 11, 10am-4:00pm. In addition to showcasing the talent of local artists and artisans, there will be numerous children’s activities, demonstrations, music, dance, food and a margarita bar. This year’s music and entertainment include Soul Posse, Cabillitos de la Cancion, Cactus Avenue, Fire Dancing by Alaya Crystal Dance and Friends and Ballet Folklorico.
The festival is sponsored by the Chico Visual Arts Alliance (ChiVAA) who strive to promote local artists, educate the public about the variety and value of art in the community and provide for a perfect Mother’s Day celebration.
